Review by hotel critic
During my recent visit to Bannisters By the Sea in Mollymook, I was truly enchanted by the seamless blend of coastal charm and contemporary luxury. The spacious room, filled with natural light and featuring a comfortable king-size bed, provided the perfect retreat after a day of exploring the stunning surroundings. A highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the serene outdoor spa, where we enjoyed a private soak while listening to the gentle waves lapping against the shore, a picturesque setting reminiscent of the French Riviera. Dining at Rick Stein's restaurant was an experience unto itself; the oysters and octopus were exceptional, though breakfast could have benefited from fresher offerings. Despite a minor hiccup with berries, the overall culinary experience at Rick Stein was elevated by the friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. For those keen on immersing themselves in the local landscape, the tours of the nearby vineyards presented an excellent opportunity to appreciate the rich history of this region-known as the first European settlement on the South Coast. I left with not just memories of indulgent meals and beautiful vistas, but also a profound appreciation for Mollymook's blend of history and natural beauty. This stay resonated with the same elegance and depth I've always cherished in my travels to France, making Bannisters By the Sea a perfect getaway for anyone, especially families and history enthusiasts like myself.
